Description

The Woolpower Kids Balaclava 200 is ideal for your child during the cold days, when you will be doing sports activities. Whether that’s skiing or a brisk hike, this balaclava provides optimal cold-weather protection. It is made of a blend of merino wool and synthetic fibers, making it antibacterial and quick-drying. The flat seams prevent chafing, making it good to wear under a helmet. Because the balaclava has one opening, it can be modeled to completely cover your child’s head with the exception of the eyes. The bottom of the opening can be worn either over the nose or over the chin, depending on weather conditions and personal preference.

Merino wool

Merino wool comes from merino sheep and is widely known for its high quality. Merino sheep have much more hair than other sheep. About ten times as many hairs grow per square meter as an average sheep. As a result, the wool is thinner and longer, feels very soft and does not itch. Merino sheep live in areas with large temperature fluctuations of -20 ºC to over 35 ºC. Their fur acts as a heat regulator. As a result, merino wool keeps you warm in the cold but breathes well. In addition, merino wool has excellent moisture management and self-cleaning properties, so you won’t easily suffer from perspiration marks and odors on your clothing.

Polyester

Polyester is a synthetic material made from petroleum. It is a durable, smooth fabric that is soft to the touch. In addition, it is lightweight, does not require ironing and dries quickly. A disadvantage of polyester is that it does not absorb moisture well and is not very warm.

Polyamide

Polyamide, also known as nylon, is a synthetic material made from petroleum. Polyamide is a strong fabric that does not tear and wrinkle easily. It is light, elastic, easy to fold and dries quickly. A disadvantage of polyamide is that it does not absorb moisture well.

Elastane

Elastane is a synthetic fiber that is exceptionally elastic. Its great stretchability, but at the same time its sturdiness sets it apart from other synthetic fabrics. For example, it is stronger and more durable than rubber, but also much lighter. Elastane is very lightweight, making it great for when you are doing activities. In fact, elastane also offers plenty of room to move because it is so elastic without losing its fit.
